Prof Beth Watts-Cobbe

Heriot-Watt University

Beth is a senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Policy, Housing and Equalities Research, Heriot-Watt University. She is from Somerset in the South of England originally and now lives in West Edinburgh with her partner, daughter and two cats. Her research focuses on homelessness, housing, poverty and broader questions about the design, effectiveness and ethical legitimacy of social and welfare policies. She leads the 2021-26 Crisis-funded Homelessness Monitors project tracking the impacts of economic and policy change on homelessness across Great Britain and a Joseph Rowntree Foundation-funded study on destitution and homelessness among those with No Recourse to Public Funds in Scotland.
