Emma

Emma is a mum-of-5 living in the Midlands and has experience of the benefits system. She is interested in support and opportunities for people seeking flexible employment around caring responsibilities. She is also interested in Universal Credit and self-employment, free school meals and transitional protection. Emma believes that the Jobcentre does not currently fulfill its role, and is not fit for purpose. Instead of helping people to remove barriers, finding innovative solutions and connecting employers to employees, the system actually adds to the stresses and trauma that people seeking paid work can experience.
